Description

Café Boulud has been one of Manhattan’s most beloved French restaurants since it first opened in 1998, and its current incarnation at 100 East 63rd Street in partnership with Maison BARNES represents a beautiful reinvention of Daniel Boulud’s most personal project. The restaurant is named after the Lyon café once owned by Boulud’s own family, and its menu reflects the chef’s deepest culinary inspirations organized around four essential muses: La Tradition, celebrating the classic dishes of French gastronomy; La Saison, honoring the seasonal specialties of the market; Le Potager, exploring the vegetable garden in all its abundance; and Le Voyage, venturing into the exotic flavors of global cuisines. Executive Chef Romain Paumier, brought over from Restaurant Daniel, executes this vision with precision and warmth. Guests can expect to encounter dishes like seared scallops with Champagne beurre blanc, lobster ravioli in a vivid bisque, and the signature black sea bass wrapped in crispy potato strings and sauced with a red wine reduction. The Art Deco setting, with soaring ceilings and plush banquettes, exudes a timeless Parisian elegance that makes it equally suited to a long weekend brunch or a celebratory dinner. A full breakfast service is offered on weekdays. The restaurant also operates Bar Pleiades, a stylish bar with live jazz performances on Friday evenings. Private dining for events of up to 100 guests is available. Café Boulud holds a Michelin star and consistent acclaim from the New York Times.
