Jamavar Jaipur
Description
Jamavar at The Leela Palace Jaipur is the newest and most visually breathtaking expression of The Leela’s celebrated pan-Indian royal dining concept. The restaurant was formerly known as Mohan Mahal and has been reimagined in a transformation of extraordinary ambition, with every surface articulating the craft traditions of Jaipur. The walls shimmer with 350,000 individually hand-cut Thikri mirrors set within 18-carat gold leafwork, an homage to the famous Sheesh Mahal or Palace of Mirrors that defines the grandeur of Rajput architecture. The candlelit restaurant glows with the reflective warmth of this craftsmanship, and live instrumental music played by musicians dressed in period attire completes the regal atmosphere. The menu was conceived as a tribute to India’s royal kitchens, with age-old recipes carefully researched and elevated with modern culinary finesse. The six-course set menu is available in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian formats, priced at INR 6,000 per person, and guided by a team of knowledgeable servers. The menu design itself, inspired by Mughal Parchinkari inlay art, is a collectible object. Unusually, service at Jamavar Jaipur is provided by an all-women team, an act of deliberate design that brings a particular grace and attentiveness to the dining room. The Leela Palace Jaipur, situated on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway near Kukas, is one of the most spectacular new palaces in Rajasthan.
