Dilli Haat INA
Description
Dilli Haat is one of Delhi’s most beloved and enduring cultural and craft destinations, established in 1994 as a pioneering open-air bazaar jointly set up by Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation, the DC Handicrafts, DC Handlooms, and the Ministries of Textiles and Tourism. Located on six acres opposite INA Market on Aurobindo Marg in South Delhi, Dilli Haat is designed in the style of a traditional village market, with small thatched-roof kiosks and cottages clustered along shaded walkways that create a vibrant, festive ambience. The defining concept of Dilli Haat is that craft stalls are allocated on a rotational basis to registered craftspeople from across every Indian state, ensuring a constantly changing and always fresh showcase of the country’s astonishing diversity of handmade products. Visitors can find handwoven silk and cotton textiles, Kashmiri pashmina shawls, Rajasthani block-printed fabrics, tribal Dhokra metalwork, Manipuri bamboo crafts, Madhubani paintings, handcrafted jewellery, terracotta sculptures, cane and bamboo furniture, stone carvings, leather crafts, organic beauty products, handmade toys, and much more. Dilli Haat also hosts a food plaza with 25 stalls representing the diverse regional cuisines of India, making it a complete cultural experience. It remains one of the most authentic and affordable places to purchase genuine Indian handicrafts in the capital.
