EMPREINTES is a landmark concept store and online marketplace established in the heart of Paris’s Haut-Marais district by Ateliers d’Art de France, the professional federation of French fine craft. Housed in a beautifully renovated 600 square meter, three-story loft on the Rue de Picardie, the store brings together the creations of more than 300 carefully selected French artisans, offering visitors an immersive journey into the diversity and excellence of French handcraft traditions. Every piece found in the store is conceived, produced, and sold directly by the artisan who made it, ensuring an authentic connection between maker and buyer. The rotating selection spans an exceptional range of disciplines, including ceramics, glass, metalwork, textile art, leather goods, jewelry, furniture, and paper art, all unified by an uncompromising commitment to quality and originality. EMPREINTES renews its in-store collection every four months, ensuring that each visit offers fresh discoveries and introducing new talents alongside established makers. The space, redesigned by architect Nabil Hamdouni, once housed a Chanel costume jewelry studio, lending the premises a unique creative heritage. EMPREINTES also operates a dynamic online marketplace where items can be shipped internationally, directly from the artisans’ workshops. Through events, exhibitions, and creator meet-and-greets, the store actively fosters a living dialogue between the public and France’s community of craftspeople, championing sustainable and thoughtful consumption.
