The Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) is Malta’s national further and higher education institution specialising in vocational and applied learning. Established in 2001 and headquartered in Paola, MCAST is the largest post-secondary educational institution in Malta, offering qualifications from Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF) Level 1 through to Level 6 (degree level) across eight specialist institutes covering applied sciences, art and design, business, community services, creative arts, electrical and electronics engineering, information and communication technology, and maritime and ocean technology. MCAST’s programmes are fully accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) and aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), ensuring European recognition and portability of all qualifications obtained. The college maintains extensive industry partnerships across Malta’s key economic sectors including financial services, gaming, aviation, tourism, and the maritime industry, facilitating internship placements and ensuring graduates are equipped with competencies directly relevant to the Maltese and broader European labour market. MCAST is an active participant in Erasmus+ and holds an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, enabling international student and staff mobility. The institution also runs centres for applied research and skills competitions.
