JINsoon Hand & Foot Spa is a foundational institution in New York City nail culture, founded in 1991 by Jin Soon Choi, a Korean-born nail artist who built her reputation hand-crafting perfect manicures for top editors, photographers, and celebrities. Dubbed the Nail Guru by The New York Times Magazine, Jin championed the one-on-one, unhurried salon experience from the start. Today, JINsoon operates four Manhattan locations: Tribeca (37 Walker St), West Village (23 Jones St), East Village (56 E 4th St), and Upper East Side (421 E 73rd St). All offer manicures and pedicures, shellac gel services, spa treatments, and waxing. The brand’s house non-toxic, vegan nail polish line is a bestseller among beauty editors. A complimentary cup of citrus or green tea accompanies every visit. The West Village location became famous when neighbourhood regular Sarah Jessica Parker was the salon’s very first client.
