Description

Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu is one of Asakusa’s most beloved traditional inns, a government-registered international ryokan located at 1-31-11 Asakusa in Taito Ward, tucked behind Nakamise shopping street just a one-minute walk from the famous street and five minutes’ walk from Asakusa Metro Station on the Ginza Line. The ryokan has expanded from its origins as a small wooden two-story inn to a modern six-floor building while preserving the warm, personalized hospitality of traditional Japanese innkeeping. It offers a variety of Japanese-style tatami rooms with futon bedding alongside Western-style rooms, all featuring Airweave premium mattress pads, air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, refrigerators, and private bathrooms with either a bathtub or shower booth. Yukata robes, hair dryers, slippers, toiletries, and bottled spring water sourced from the foothills of Mount Tanzawa are provided in every room. The signature amenity is the Japanese cypress bath on the sixth floor, offering sweeping views of Sensoji Temple’s five-storied pagoda and the Tokyo Skytree. Nearby facilities include Sensoji Temple, the Asakusa Shrine, Sumida River, the Hanayashiki amusement park, and numerous traditional craft shops. Telephone reservations are accepted from 9am to 9pm, and the front desk is staffed from 7am to 11pm daily.
