Goldhahn und Sampson was established in 2006 by Thomas Goldhahn and Sascha Rimkus, who set out to create a unique space where high-quality ingredients, cookbooks, kitchen equipment, and culinary education could come together under one roof. Today, the brand operates three locations across Berlin, in Prenzlauer Berg, Charlottenburg, and Kreuzberg at the famous Markthalle Neun, and has grown to employ over 30 members of staff. The cooking school component of Goldhahn und Sampson offers Berlin’s broadest selection of culinary classes, covering cuisines from around the world as well as specialist topics including fermentation, bread and pastry baking, butchery, wine pairing, and seasonal ingredient-led cooking. Classes are offered in German, English, and English-friendly formats, meaning that some German-language sessions include a fluent English-speaking teacher who can fully explain the content to non-German speakers. The school’s instruction team includes professional chefs, food artisans, and culinary specialists with deep expertise in their respective fields.
