teamLab Planets TOKYO
Description
teamLab Planets TOKYO is a world-famous immersive art museum located in the Toyosu district of Koto, Tokyo, operated by the internationally celebrated art collective teamLab. The museum holds the Guinness World Record for the most visited museum dedicated to a single art group, welcoming over 2.5 million visitors annually. Unlike conventional galleries, teamLab Planets is entirely experienced barefoot, and many of its installations involve wading through shallow water, making it a uniquely tactile and sensory journey for both children and adults. The museum features four indoor body-immersive artwork spaces and two outdoor garden areas. Highlights include the Floating Flower Garden, a breathtaking space filled with over 13,000 live orchids suspended in the air, and the Universe of Reversing Globes, where visitors find themselves submerged in a field of luminous spheres that respond to touch. The Water Area spaces blend light, reflection, and water to create otherworldly environments that shift and evolve with each visitor. The Garden Area blends living nature with cutting-edge digital technology. Visitors are encouraged to take photographs and videos throughout. Advance ticket booking is essential, as time slots fill up quickly. The museum is open daily and is conveniently located near Shin-Toyosu Station on the Yurikamome Line, open until 2027.
