Campamento Canaima
Description
Campamento Canaima is the founding lodge of Venezuela’s Canaima National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, established in 1956 by the Boulton family and Avensa airline beside the extraordinary rose-sand lagoon whose turquoise waters are coloured by tannins from the surrounding tepuy vegetation. The lodge’s 88 rooms, divided into Standard, Deluxe, and Top Deluxe categories, are equipped with air conditioning, hot water, and satellite Wi-Fi in the lobby area. All-inclusive packages cover round-trip flights from Caracas, full board including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and afternoon snacks, plus guided excursions by curiara canoe to the Hacha, Sapo, and Golondrina waterfalls of the Canaima Lagoon. The lodge is staffed entirely by Pemon indigenous community members from the Canaima area, making every stay a direct contribution to local economic development and cultural preservation. An orchid conservation garden is maintained on the property. The journey to Angel Falls, the world’s highest waterfall at 979 metres, can be arranged as a full-day river expedition or a scenic overflight. Campamento Canaima represents the definitive Canaima experience, combining the extraordinary natural landscape with genuine cultural engagement and comfortable all-inclusive hospitality.
