Description

Khaosan Tokyo Origami is a creatively designed 2-star hostel located at Asakusa 3-4-12 in Taito Ward, positioned just five minutes’ walk from the iconic Kaminari-mon Gate and Sensoji Temple, making it one of the most culturally situated budget accommodations in all of Tokyo. Opened in October 2014 as the newest branch of the well-regarded Khaosan hostel chain, Origami markets itself as a decorative hostel with an on-site gallery space that hosts rotating cultural exhibitions and crafts workshops, including origami, pottery, and Japanese arts. The hostel offers 22 air-conditioned rooms featuring a mix of Japanese-style tatami rooms with futon bedding, private twin and triple rooms, and mixed dormitory accommodation sleeping up to eight guests. A panoramic eighth-floor rooftop lounge and communal kitchen serve as the primary social space, offering stunning views of the Tokyo Skytree and Asakusa rooftops, with a fully equipped kitchen including a microwave, refrigerator, cooking tools, and complimentary drinks. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. Luggage storage, express check-out, laundry facilities, and tour-and-ticket assistance are provided. The hostel is ten minutes’ walk from Asakusa Station on the Toei Asakusa and Tobu lines and is within easy reach of Nakamise shopping street, the Sumida Aquarium, and the Tokyo National Museum in nearby Ueno.
