Buerehiesel
Description
Buerehiesel is one of Strasbourg’s most enduring and celebrated fine dining restaurants, housed in a magnificent 17th-century Alsatian farmhouse originally brought from Molsheim and reassembled in the Parc de l’Orangerie during the 1895 World Exhibition. Chef Eric Westermann — son of the legendary Antoine Westermann, who turned this address into a three-starred institution — now leads the kitchen with his own confident and personal interpretation of the Alsatian gastronomic tradition, combining a deep respect for the region’s culinary heritage with a modern, lighter sensibility. The menu celebrates the finest seasonal ingredients of Alsace and beyond, with dishes that are technically precise, richly flavoured, and beautifully presented. The unique setting — part rustic farmhouse, part contemporary loft with glazed ceilings and views onto the park — is among the most atmospheric and charming dining spaces in Strasbourg. The service is warm, professional, and knowledgeable, and the wine list is excellent, with particular strength in Alsatian labels. Buerehiesel remains an essential address for anyone passionate about the culinary culture of Alsace.
