Essência is Budapest’s celebrated Portuguese-Hungarian fine dining restaurant, founded by chef-patron Tiago Sabarigo and his wife Éva. Located in the heart of the city on Sas utca, the restaurant earned its first Michelin star in 2021 and has maintained that recognition ever since. Tiago, a Portuguese-born chef, previously served as head chef at the Michelin-starred Costes Downtown before venturing out on his own.
