Kabuki Lisboa is the Portuguese outpost of the celebrated Kabuki group, which originated in Madrid in 2000 and earned a Michelin star for its distinctive fusion of Japanese technique with Mediterranean sensibility. Located in the prestigious Galerias Ritz at the Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon on Rua Castilho, the restaurant spans three elaborate floors, each offering a different dimension of the Kabuki experience. The ground-floor bar Kikubari serves signature cocktails crafted with Japanese ingredients alongside a selection of premium sake and Japanese whisky, while the main dining room features a dramatic sushi bar decorated with an imposing mural illustrating the five tenets of Japanese philosophy. A third, brightly lit top floor is dedicated to a rotating lunch menu. The cuisine is defined by a philosophy of rigour and simplicity: chef Paulo Alves and the team source premium seasonal ingredients and prepare them with precision to express pure, honest flavours. Signature dishes include the scarlet prawn usuzukuri, the quail egg nigiri with truffle, the toro flambé nigiri, the guindara no miso, and the iconic pastel de nata mochi, a playful nod to Lisbon’s most beloved pastry. The restaurant has held a Michelin star continuously and has been recognised by Wine Spectator with a Best of Award of Excellence. Tasting menus are available alongside à la carte selections, with optional wine pairings guided by an in-house sommelier team overseeing a cellar of more than five hundred references.
