The Greenhouse
Description
NOTE — PERMANENTLY CLOSED. The Greenhouse was a two-Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant on Dawson Street in Dublin, widely regarded as one of Ireland’s most distinguished and serious culinary destinations. Opened by Eamonn O’Reilly and led for most of its celebrated life by Finnish chef Mickael Viljanen, the restaurant earned its second Michelin star just before closing during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Viljanen departed in May 2021 to become chef-patron of Chapter One, where he has since earned two Michelin stars. The Greenhouse has not reopened since the pandemic and multiple sources confirm it is permanently closed. It is a significant chapter in Irish fine dining history — one of only five Irish restaurants to have ever achieved two Michelin stars. The website domain may still exist but the restaurant is no longer operating. This listing should be removed from any active restaurant database immediately.
