BFI Wien (Berufsfoerderungsinstitut Wien), the Vienna Vocational Training Institute, is one of Austria’s most prominent providers of vocational education, continuing training, and professional development, operating under the joint ownership of the Chambers of Labour and the Austrian Trade Union Federation. With nearly 4,000 courses and programmes offered each year across five locations in Vienna, BFI Wien serves a diverse population of learners including employed workers, job seekers, young adults, and people undergoing career transitions. The institution’s extensive curriculum spans IT and digital skills, health and social care, logistics and transport, management and business administration, languages, pedagogy, hospitality, and technical and ecological fields. BFI Wien also operates vocational schools offering the Berufsreifepruefung (vocational secondary leaving certificate), enabling students to qualify for university entrance.
