Joli Nails is an American-owned and operated boutique beauty salon located in the quiet residential neighbourhood of Shirokane, Minato-ku, a three-minute walk from Shirokane-Takanawa Station. The salon was founded by Janica, an American expat, as a response to the need for a fully bilingual, family-friendly beauty destination in Tokyo. The nail services are among the most distinctive in the city, featuring the exceptional hand-painted gel art of award-winning nail artist Kikuko Asagami, who won the NailPro World gel art championship in 2015. Kikuko’s miniature masterpieces range from abstract designs to precise photographic reproductions — clients have had grandchildren’s faces, pets, and favourite anime characters painted onto their nails. Standard gel nail services are also offered from 4,645 yen (one colour) with hand-painted accent nails from 4,320 yen each. Beyond nails, the salon offers Swedish pedicures, massage, eyelash extensions, eyebrow threading, waxing, spray tanning, and IPL hair removal — making it a genuinely comprehensive beauty destination. Uniquely, professional childcare is available on the ground floor for clients with young children, bookable in advance at 1,030 yen per hour.
