As a manicure-only studio, Paintbox occupies a singular niche in the NYC nail market: each season, it releases a curated editorial collection of nail designs inspired by runway and fashion trends. Clients choose from an artfully conceived look book rather than requesting open-ended custom art. The studio developed its Power Couples nail polish line over five years and 117,000 manicures, available in limited seasonal colorways that are vegan and cruelty-free. Services focus exclusively on manicures in regular polish and soft gel — no pedicures, no acrylics, no extensions — making it a specialist destination for hand nail care. The Upper East Side location is open seven days a week from 10am to 7pm by appointment. The press-on range is sold at Bloomingdale’s and Anthropologie.
