الوصف

Vector Wero Whitewater Park is New Zealand’s first and only purpose-built artificial whitewater facility, located at 770 Great South Road in Wiri, Manukau, Auckland. Built to international standards and developed by Waka Pacific Trust, the park was designed using engineering expertise applied to world-class facilities including the Rio Olympics and Lee Valley whitewater stadiums. The park features two distinct river courses: the Grade 1-2 Tamariki River, a 203-metre recreational course ideal for beginners, school groups, and community participants, and a 294-metre Olympic-standard Grade 4 course used for commercial rafting, canoe and kayak slalom training, and competitive events. A 4.5-metre man-made waterfall — the highest artificial waterfall in the world — provides an additional adrenaline experience for more advanced visitors. A 9,000-square-metre lake serves as the training and recreational pond for paddleboarding, kayaking, and water confidence activities. Guided sessions, safety briefings by qualified outdoor guides, and school programmes aligned to the New Zealand national curriculum are all available. Vector Wero operates Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30am to 5pm, with reduced hours during winter months. The park is confirmed active for 2025 and 2026, with information on accessibility and booking available through the official website at wero.org.nz.
