Campamento Parakaupa
الوصف
Campamento Parakaupa is an indigenous Pemon-owned and operated lodge in the Tururiwaipa sector of Canaima National Park’s western zone, offering visitors an exceptionally authentic and culturally immersive experience in one of the world’s most ancient and biodiverse landscapes. The campamento’s 18 comfortable rooms are designed to complement the natural environment with open-air corridors, hammocks, and views of the surrounding rainforest, each providing a private bathroom, electricity for device charging, and the fundamental comforts needed for a stay in this remote wilderness setting. Excursions offered by Pemon naturalist and indigenous guides include canoe trips on the Canaima Lagoon, hikes to the base of tepuy formations, visits to indigenous villages and artisan workshops, and multi-day expeditions to Angel Falls. The campamento’s dining room serves traditional Venezuelan and Pemon cuisine prepared from local ingredients, providing guests with an authentic taste of the region’s food culture. All stays contribute directly to the economic development and cultural preservation of the Kanaimö indigenous community. Campamento Parakaupa offers a level of cultural depth and natural immersion that few other destinations in South America can match.
