Le Clos des Récollets
Description
Le Clos des Récollets is one of Durbuy’s most beloved gastronomic addresses, housed in a beautifully restored 17th-century building in the heart of the medieval old town. Recognised by the MICHELIN Guide with a Bib Gourmand distinction and rated by Gault&Millau, this intimate restaurant and hotel is the creation of chef Frédéric Bruneel, who trained at the renowned Sea Grill in Brussels before establishing his own vision in the Ardennes. The menu is rooted in classical French cuisine while remaining firmly contemporary, with dishes that celebrate locally sourced ingredients from the region and beyond. Signature preparations include beef tartare with foie gras, grilled cod, lobster tart, and crispy veal sweetbreads, all composed with meticulous attention to balance and presentation. The setting, adorned with warm stone walls, intimate lighting, and a charming terrace, creates a romantic and welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to linger over excellent food and wine. Chef Bruneel is known for his personalised approach to hospitality, often greeting guests at the end of their meal. With eight comfortable rooms available for overnight stays, Le Clos des Récollets offers a complete gastronomic retreat in one of Belgium’s most picturesque towns.
