Description
Restaurant Vest — also known as Découverte — is one of Ypres’ most celebrated fine dining destinations, selected by the Michelin Guide and recognised by Gault&Millau for its creative, seasonal, and deeply local approach to gastronomy. Chef Jeroen presides over a kitchen that draws its inspiration directly from the fertile landscape of the Westhoek, working closely with local farmers and producers to craft a menu that is both spontaneous and rigorously executed. The restaurant is housed in a serene property a short walk from the Menin Gate, where guests can dine in the beautiful walled inner garden when weather permits — a setting of rare tranquility in the heart of Ypres. The tasting menu, known as De Wandeling, is available in four or five courses and showcases the kitchen’s ability to weave local and international flavours into a harmonious whole. Non-alcoholic pairings, crafted in-house, and an extensive wine list with wines by the glass complement the food. Host Séverine ensures warm, insightful service throughout. Accommodation is available at the attached B&B, making this an ideal base for exploring the city’s remarkable WWI heritage.
