Økologisk Landsforening is Denmark’s primary organization for organic agriculture, representing farmers, food businesses, and other stakeholders committed to sustainable food production. Based in Aarhus, the organization works to promote the development of Denmark’s organic sector through policy advocacy, market development, farmer support, and consumer communication. Denmark has one of the highest shares of organic farmland in the world, and Økologisk Landsforening has played a central role in achieving this through decades of sustained engagement with farmers, retailers, and government bodies. It manages the Danish organic label, the Ø-label, one of the most widely recognized and trusted organic certifications in Europe.
