PermaCulture Greece

PermaCulture Greece is a national network dedicated to promoting permaculture design and regenerative land management across Greece. Based in Athens, the network connects practitioners, educators, farmers, and communities interested in applying permaculture principles — a design methodology inspired by natural ecosystems — to the challenges of sustainable food production, land restoration, and community resilience. The network provides training through certified permaculture design courses taught by experienced practitioners, as well as a range of shorter workshops and seminars on specific topics such as food forest design, natural building, water harvesting, composting, and community organizing. PermaCulture Greece also facilitates connections between members, supports the development of demonstration sites, and promotes the exchange of knowledge and resources within the Greek permaculture community. The network is affiliated with international permaculture organizations and contributes to a global movement working to develop and share regenerative design solutions. In the Greek context, where a significant proportion of the population has family connections to agriculture and where land degradation and rural depopulation pose serious challenges, permaculture offers relevant and practical tools for rebuilding productive and ecologically healthy landscapes. PermaCulture Greece plays a valuable role in making these tools accessible and in inspiring a growing community of ecologically motivated practitioners across the country.
