Beschrijving

Green Art Gallery is one of the most influential and long-standing contemporary art galleries in Dubai, founded by Mayla Atassi in 1995 — first as an intimate salon in a Jumeirah villa, before relocating to a 3,000 sq ft warehouse space in Alserkal Avenue in 2010. In 2010, director Yasmin Atassi led a full rebranding that positioned the gallery at the forefront of critical contemporary practice from the Middle East and beyond. Since then, Green Art Gallery has built a formidable international reputation, participating regularly in Art Basel, Frieze, FIAC, The Armory Show, and Art Dubai, and placing works in the collections of institutions including the British Museum, MoMA, Tate Modern, Centre Pompidou, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The gallery represents artists such as Afra Al Dhaheri, Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh, Hesam Rahmanian, and Kamrooz Aram, whose practices engage with politics, history, and the visual cultures of the region. Exhibitions are rigorously curated, combining careful scholarship with a commitment to artistic risk. Green Art Gallery also maintains a publishing programme in support of its artists. Open Saturday to Thursday, 10am to 7pm. An essential address in the Dubai art world.
