Pro Luomu

Pro Luomu is Finland’s leading organization for the promotion of organic agriculture and sustainable food consumption. Established in 2011 and based in Helsinki, Pro Luomu coordinates activities across the organic value chain, from production through processing and retail to the consumer. The association works with farmers, food companies, retailers, public procurement bodies, and policymakers to strengthen the organic sector and increase the consumption of organic products in Finland. Pro Luomu conducts market research and publishes an annual overview of organic sector statistics, providing essential data for strategic decision-making across the industry. The organization manages communication campaigns to raise consumer awareness of organic certification and the environmental benefits of organic food. Pro Luomu coordinates sectoral working groups for organic milk, meat, and vegetables, bringing together stakeholders to identify challenges and develop collaborative solutions. The association is a member of IFOAM Organics Europe and participates in international projects that promote organic food in multiple European markets. Through its work, Pro Luomu contributes to Finland’s goal of increasing the share of organic farmland and public sector organic procurement.
