Hydro Tasmania

Hydro Tasmania is Australia’s largest renewable energy generator and operator of the most significant hydroelectric power system in the country. The state-owned company manages more than 50 hydroelectric stations across Tasmania, harnessing the island state’s abundant water resources to produce reliable and dispatchable clean electricity. Hydro Tasmania also invests in wind energy and is developing the Battery of the Nation project, a major pumped hydro initiative that aims to position Tasmania as a national renewable energy exporter through an upgraded undersea interconnector to the Australian mainland.
