描述
Alserkal Avenue is Dubai’s leading arts and culture district, founded in 2008 by Emirati businessman and patron Abdelmonem Bin Eisa Alserkal in the Al Quoz industrial area. Spanning 500,000 square feet of converted warehouses, the district is home to more than 70 contemporary art galleries, non-profit organisations, performing arts venues, and creative businesses, representing the highest concentration of art spaces in a single area across the region. The district was shaped organically, beginning with the arrival of Carbon 12 in 2009, and has since grown into an internationally recognised hub featuring galleries such as The Third Line, Leila Heller Gallery, Lawrie Shabibi, Green Art Gallery, and Custot Gallery, alongside institutions including Ishara Art Foundation and the OMA-designed Concrete space. Alserkal Avenue hosts a rich annual calendar of events including Alserkal Art Week — held in conjunction with Art Dubai — the Quoz Arts Fest, and Ramadan programming. The district also operates an arts residency programme and public art commissions through Alserkal Arts Foundation. Free to enter and open Saturday to Thursday, it draws collectors, curators, artists, and visitors from across the world, and remains the single most important destination for contemporary art in the Arabian Gulf.
