描述
CSA Netwerk Vlaanderen is a Belgian non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and strengthening community-supported agriculture in Flanders and beyond. Based in Ghent, the network brings together farmers, consumers, and organizations committed to building direct, transparent, and mutually supportive relationships between food producers and the communities they serve. In a community-supported agriculture model, consumers commit in advance to purchasing a share of a farm’s seasonal harvest, providing farmers with financial stability before the season begins and sharing the inherent risks of farming. This model creates a qualitatively different relationship between producers and consumers, built on trust, transparency, and shared responsibility. CSA Netwerk Vlaanderen supports this model through training, advisory services, resource sharing, and advocacy work aimed at removing regulatory and financial barriers for both new and established CSA farms. The organization promotes sustainable farming practices among its member farms including organic production, crop diversification, biodiversity conservation, and seasonal and local eating. It facilitates peer learning and knowledge exchange among member farms, connecting farmers facing similar challenges and helping them find practical solutions together. CSA Netwerk Vlaanderen also engages with schools, municipalities, and community organizations to broaden awareness of and participation in community-supported agriculture. By strengthening and expanding the CSA movement, the network contributes to building more resilient, decentralized food systems that reduce dependence on industrial supply chains.
