描述
NOTE — PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Funky Gourmet was a two-Michelin-starred avant-garde restaurant formerly located in the Kerameikos district of Athens, internationally recognized for its theatrical, playful, and boundary-pushing approach to gastronomy. Founded by chefs Georgianna Hiliadaki and Nikos Roussos, together with restaurant manager Argyro Hiliadaki, the restaurant earned its first Michelin star in 2012 and its second in 2014. The tasting menus were conceptually driven experiences that engaged all the senses, transforming Greek culinary traditions into visual and theatrical performances. Dishes such as a deconstructed Greek salad served as ice cream and a picnic-themed amuse-bouche sequence became emblematic of the restaurant’s identity. Funky Gourmet closed its original Keramikos premises in January 2019 for a planned relocation, but did not reopen in its intended new location at the Athens Hilton. Multiple sources confirm the restaurant is permanently closed as of the time of this listing. It remains a landmark in Greek fine dining history and a pioneering example of modernist gastronomy in Greece.
