Cloudstreet is one of Singapore’s most critically acclaimed fine dining destinations, holding two Michelin stars and a coveted position on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Named after the Tim Winton novel, the restaurant opened in 2019 on Amoy Street and was conceived by Sri Lankan-born Chef Rishi Naleendra, General Manager Gareth Burnett, and Sommelier Vinodhan Veloo as a place where true hospitality meets progressive gastronomy. The restaurant occupies a two-storey conservation shophouse, its interior defined by an L-shaped counter beneath a striking skylight. Chef Naleendra’s cuisine defies easy categorisation, instead celebrating a progressive and sophisticated approach that marries his Sri Lankan heritage with Australian culinary training, Japanese ingredients, and a broader global palate. The seasonal tasting menu is ingredient-driven and changes to reflect the finest available produce, with dishes that contrast textures and flavours with extraordinary precision. Highlights include grilled Jeju Island abalone with caviar and onion consommé, and a chef’s table experience offering a front-row view of the open kitchen team working in flawless unison. The wine programme is exceptional, with a thoughtfully curated list developed by the in-house sommelier. An intimate private room is available for up to six guests, accessible via a separate booking enquiry. Reservations are highly sought after and typically must be secured months in advance.
