Le Foodist Paris – Wine and Cheese

Le Foodist’s wine and cheese pairing experience, which the school affectionately calls its Daring Pairings class, is one of the most popular and distinctive offerings in the school’s programme, reflecting the school’s belief that to fully understand French food culture you must appreciate how wine and cheese interact and the stories behind each combination. Hosted in Le Foodist’s beautiful kitchen space in Paris’s Latin Quarter, the experience gathers a small group of participants for an educational and delicious afternoon or evening of wine tasting and cheese selection. Led by a knowledgeable instructor with a deep passion for French terroir, the session guides participants through a carefully curated selection of French cheeses drawn from different regions, styles, and milk types, and explains the reasoning behind pairing each cheese with a specific style of white or red wine. Participants taste their way through the pairings, developing a practical vocabulary for discussing flavour, texture, and regional character that will serve them well in restaurants and dinner parties for years to come. The session is characterised by warmth, storytelling, and a genuine love of French gastronomy, and participants consistently describe it as one of the most pleasurable and educational two hours they spent in Paris.
